Respectability is an odd creature. Especially because of the lengths we might go to capture it. We have a moth-like fascination with it, get caught in the headlights of its high beam and lose our bearings altogether. Strange that fascination isn’t it!

Do you have a maroon umbrella story? I do. It would be truly unbelievable if I didn’t have the umbrella to show for it all these years later. But I do. I thought you might like this short story. I remembered it during my walk today, under my maroon umbrella. It made me smile.

I get a real kick out of finding a treasure among the oddments of a second-hand shop or an Estate sale. It’s the fact that these things have been pre-loved. I love that they have their own story to tell and hearing it can be so humbling.

My laptop died an invirtuous and most undignified death yesterday. With an epitaph befitting a poor man, the message on the screen was short, sharp and to the to point.
