ABOUT TEDx

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, ‘ideas worth spreading’. The programme is designed to give communities, organisations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

ABOUT David Blood

“In 2003 David Blood ‘retired’ from his role as CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He grew up in extreme poverty as a child in Brazil, where his father was an automobile executive.

At the time of his ‘retirement’ he had been looking for an opportunity that was more than just about making money. In 2004, he set up Generation Investment Management with Al Gore. He said,  “it’s not only about risk management or cost, but about revenue, profit, and competitive positioning.”

Their hope was to make sustainable investing mainstream and encourage businesses around the world to be more responsible, ethical and sustainable. Based in London, the Company combines traditional securities analysis with thematic research into issues such as climate change, water, global poverty, and HIV/AIDS. ”
